WHAT IS THE MILL VALLEY STAIRMASTER SERIES?

During these unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic, most of us are sheltered in place and going a little stir crazy after 6-7 weeks. I spent most of April walking all of the Steps, Lanes and Paths in the town of Mill Valley, California including many that probably had been abandoned years ago! Once the shelter in place was extended through May, we decided to hold a fundraiser for the Marin Food Bank by creating a variety of orienteering/walking/hiking/running courses made up of some of the most beautiful and challenging portions of theses steps, lanes and paths. The details of each course are listed below and we will donate $0.50 for every $1 you contribute (minimum of $10 please.) For each person who completes any of the routes below by the end of May and posts their hike/run information to the Strava app, either by smart phone, smart watch, some similar GPS tracker or manually with photos, we will enter their name in the prize drawings (see below.) We hope you enjoy these routes and you have a great experience on the trails right around the corner!

FUNDRAISING DETAILS - HOW DO YOU DONATE?

We are asking for a minimum of $10 per person/participant but will gladly accept large amounts which makes the Urban Coyote Racing match increase as well. We will accept donations through Paypal or Venmo. 100% of funds will be given directly to the Marin Food Bank. Here is the account info for donations:

Paypal - info@urbancoyoteracing.com (please choose family and friends to avoid fees)

Venmo - @Phil-Oreste

THE GUIDELINES (READ: RULES)

All courses will start and end at the clock next to the Depot Cafe on the corner of Throckmorton and Miller Avenues. The series will start on May 1 and end on May 31, 2020. Each course completion must be done according to State, County, and City laws, rules & guidelines. Please bring a face mask or covering at all times and respect the 6 feet distancing rule. YOU SHOULD NOT HIKE OR RUN with multiple people or at the same time unless all are from the same household - stressing SOCIAL DISTANCING! These are not official hikes, runs or events of any kind.

PRIZES, PRIZES, PRIZES
Since we are not holding any Urban Coyote Racing events these days, we have some schwag collecting dust in the garage so we want to give out some shirts, hats, pint glasses, water glasses and whatever else I can find back in the corner! Plenty of goodies whether you walk, hike or run a route slow or fast and you complete one or all of the official courses during the month of May. We will figure out who gets what at the end of the month.

COURSE DETAILS
We have links to my Strava route of the courses, a link to the GPX file which works really well with a free GPX app such as Gaia GPS and the old school paper step by step directions. Good luck!
